   I was very disappointed with our experience at the Brown Palace for their Holiday Tea. I have had Tea there before and had great experiences, this time was not a good experience. Our table was placed between the servers station and the main staircase. They were on a 20 minute wait for our reserved table when we arrived. I don’t mind waiting, but because we were in the last seating of Tea, the whole staff was in a rush to finish their shift and flip the lobby area into the Bar setting. The server vacuumed the floor next to us, the piano player left and was replaced by the night band setting up which included a trumpet and drum set. As I stated before, we were seated next to the stairs outside the main lobby area. It seemed like we were forgotten about as the servers with designated sections rushed by us. My opinion, the Brown Palace accepted too many reservations, crammed too many tables in that space in order to make more money, and in that process they lost the ambience of the fine dining Afternoon Tea they were supposed to be providing.

   We were seated next to the cigar lounge and there was a smoke smell. Great atmosphere and service. It was expensive, but not unexpected for a unique experience.

   Our annual new year’s visit: Cons- they are running pretty late, for a 230pm reservation it was almost 3pm when we were seated. The table we had needs to be replaced and the front smoke kept wafting from the cigar room. The apricot scone was flat and dry, the sandwiches were tasty, but could use more filling, the macaron was dry and our cream was still frozen on the bottom half. Pros - The plain scone was divine and the shortbread with a cream topping was delicious. The seasonal decorations are always lovely and the pianist was exceptional today. The value is diminishing rapidly for this experience, which we do a few times a year. We may look elsewhere and that is a shame.

   We look forward to this annual tradition every year. It’s decorated beautifully for the holidays and we enjoy the whole experience.

   Marianna provided Excellent service. She was very knowledgeable about the different teas and menu items. She had interesting information about the hotel and history. Very good experience!

   A spectacular holiday celebration! The treats are absolutely delicious. Brown Palace offer gluten-free and dairy free treats that are just as good as the regular ones. Service is top-notch! Everyone helps serve every table, have such sweet and helpful attitudes and bring everything to the table with the brightest smiles. Frankly attending the tea service is worth just spending time with the servers.

   It was freezing, and he tables were too close together, and a lady next to us hit my husband with her butt 5 times getting up and down. The bathroom was not clean, and the entire place can use some freshening up (deep cleaning and polishing). Historic buildings can still be kept nice. The vegan menu was $10 more than the regular menu, and their was less food, and 99% was not good at all. If they're going to serve a vegan menu, put some effort into it. Our server, Forest, was very professional, friendly, and kind. The tea was delicious, despite the sub-par food. The piano was nice but the talking competed with it. As a Colorado native this was our first and last time trying out the tea at The Brown Palace. We expected much higher quality food and atmosphere for the high price.

   An off day on the ambiance, the day we went there was a strong smell of cigars. We know this isn’t the norm since we’ve been coming here for several years. Service and food are amazing as usual.

    Food was good, service was good but for the price it would be better to be able to have more than just one tea with unlimited water making it watered down tea. Other tea places that charge less allow for two or more different teas (per person) during the duration of the tea, making for a more pleasant experience worthy of the price.
