Tragic that they got rid of best steak in Savannah which was the Little Hilbo. Server said new chef didn’t like that it was named after another chef from many years back and was sensitive about it.

My husband and I made reservations here for our first night in Savannah, and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we stepped in the door, the staff was amazing. We started with a drink at the bar while we waited for our reservation time, and the bartenders Harley and Chauncey are fantastic. Once we got our table, our server (I think his name is Colin) was very impressive. The menu is great, and it was so hard to decide what to get. We settled on starting with the alligator bites, then we got cups of the gumbo and shrimp and grits, and both were superb. During the meal, we even got a little additional treat of croquettes the chef has whipped up. We also got the bone marrow, and this was the only disappointment of the night. There really was no bone marrow to speak of, so I can’t say I recommend that side dish here. We ended the night by taking some peanut butter pie and banana cheesecake back to our hotel, and both were incredible. This place not only provides an interesting and delicious menu, but also an unforgettable experience.

unique dishes and drinks in a quaint basement layout. Short staffed service team was a negative, and you have to be very open to trying different foods to enjoy this restaurant

We came all the way from New York for this restaurant! Our waiter was super professional and amazing at his job - he was super helpful in recommending dishes to us. The flavor of every dish was absolutely fantastic, the combinations were unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Definitely the best place if you want fine dining and Southern comfort food in one place!

The food was absolutely astonishing. My fiancé and I had the specials for that night that consisted of venison and tile fish that was out this world delicious. The ambience was Dark and lulling and the service was phenomenal. The waitress was professional and remembered the menu from front to back. Will be revisiting!

This was our second visit to Alligator Soul and it was as wonderful as we remembered. All the food was delicious. Don’t overlook the vegetarian option, which was creative and tasty on both of our visits. Our server, Amanda, was an absolute delight.

Fantastic experience! We tried Alligator Soul a few years back and made it a point to get a reservation in advance for our next Savannah trip (last time I tired booking last minute and they had no availability which is not surprising for how great this place is). Samantha was our server and she was wonderful!!! Very attentive and was so fun interacting with her. The drinks, the food, the service - everything was top notch and I cant wait till the next time I’m here!
