   they make reservations to not honor them, waited almost 3 hours with small children never told us they did not have enough staff, place was dirty, we did not get to eat after 3 hours no one came to our table after that long wait. one thing is being short staff another is not being honest with customer about services and have people waiting with small children knowing you don't have the staff to serve them is disgustingly wrong.

   We had a 6 pm reservation and they didn’t seat us until well after, taking walk-ins before us. After being seated, we didn’t get our drinks from the bar until almost 75-90 minutes later and we had already eaten our appetizer, soup and salad (apparently they claimed they had a new bartender). Things picked up when the hibachi chef eventually came. Food was good, and our group was entertained.

   I’ll echo what others have said. Why allow reservations if you’re not going to honor the time. We had a 7p reservation, got seated at 8p. Once seated the waiter took order and served the soup and salad fairly quickly then we waited again. After waiting about an hour the chef showed up. He was entertaining and the food was decent. One person in our party ordered sushi, they obviously forgot about it because she was done with her meal when it finally arrived. We ate fairly quickly and waited about 30 mins for our check to arrive and then another 20 mins for server to come back so we could pay and leave. The place is dirty, the ventilation isn’t working properly and obviously very understaffed.

   our dinner was very good. It was a very busy night so we were seated a little later than our reservation and our service was good but not superior like we are used to.

   Seated 45 minutes past reservation time. Very inattentive service. Food was bland. Hibachi chef provided no entertainment compared to other local hibachi options. Informed of bdays on reservation and start of meal and no celebration was provided.

   The chef was outstanding. The service was poor, I made a reservation for 7pm and didn’t get seated until 8:30pm. The waiter took our order and forgot everything. We had to continue calling him and asking him about the items we ordered. I would never go back. Worst experience ever for a supposed to be high end restaurant

   We went to celebrate my son’s birthday last night and it was a truly frustrating experience. Although there were numerous empty tables in the back where it was quieter, they seated us right near the door in the very first table next to the cashier. The service was horrible. It took us an hour to get drinks after I. went up to the bartender twice. My daughter asked for soy sauce and had to remind the server to get it twice. The service was incredibly slow to the point that when we were asked to stay to hear the birthday message with the tambourine, we couldn’t wait to get out of there. The food was fine but I do not recommend Benihana’s to anyone.

   Had not been to this location in a while as we used to be regulars and stopped going after they changed up menu and we had a very bad service experience a few years ago. We wanted to give it another shot but unfortunately service was slow maybe understaffed. Not clean looking run down and in need of a deep clean on everything. I took a pick of dirty bowls at our side station next to the grill that I had to point out to make sure they did not use. Our table service was far and few between server said he had too many tables. Chef was fine and food was good but for the price and overall experience we will not go back. So bummed they have not been able to turn it around.

   1st issue was we made a reservation for 1815. It was extremely busy in the lobby with nowhere to sit. We arrived around 1805, and were not called to sit until almost 1900. After sitting and giving drink orders we waited until about 1920 to take food orders. We still had not received any drinks at that point. At 1930 we finally received our drink orders. Shortly after we received the appetizers we ordered, but were not supplied anything but chopsticks to use. At 1940 the chef came over to start cooking. While he was cooking we finally received the soup portion of the appetizers, but still no silverware. This was after the chef had already served the fried rice along with the shrimp appetizers. We then finally received forks. The chef finished cooking around 2000. We never received the salads we ordered. About 20 min later we had to flag down the server to get our check so we could pay and leave. We were out the door around 2030. As far as the price goes I think they are well over priced. I go to a local hibachi in NE Philly and usually spend around $120, including tip for the same meal for 4 people. I only had myself and my 2 kids, 9 & 6, and it was $225 including tip. Both kids did order adult meals, but they also always order the adult meals when we do hibachi. I will not be returning to this chain again after this poor experience. I have have done a few stand-alone hibachi restaurants now, and found out that private restaurants provide a much better hibachi experience.

    I made reservations for 8 foot a birthday dinner. Our family was celebrating two family members’ birthdays. We had to wait 30 minutes to be served because they were short staffed. Also, another couple was seated at our table. It wasn’t the intimate experience we’re accustomed to at Benihanas. The cooking presentation seemed rushed. It was not a special outing for our family celebration.
