   Our chef was amazing and very caring with his service. The servers and waiters on the other hand were the opposite. Not good service other than the chef.

   Reservations were 1.5 hours behind, host was very unsympathetic of the situation. Manager was trying his best to accommodate the situation but customers were not happy. Some waited for more than two hours from their reservation time to get seated. Cook was good and food was delicious! Not sure where the ball was dropped but definitely a bad evening beginning. They were over booked with reservations.

   We had a 7:15pm rez through Open Table. When we arrived at 7:00pm we were told that the restaurant had been “overbooked” and it would be about 45min. We didn’t get seated until 9:00pm. During that time we waited outside in the freezing weather (no propone heaters mind you) standing because two benches were taken up and you couldn’t even fit inside the entrance which was full of people. The Manager and Assistant Manager offered no apologies for the situation, which everyone else was also experiencing. Nor were we offered any monetary consideration for our food or drinks. It was their blasé attitude that bothered me the most. All in all a bad experience for what should have been a special occasion for my wife and myself.

   The restaurant was an hour behind on reservations, the handicapped bathroom was overflowed leaving no where for handicapped people to use the restroom. It was a mess

   The place overbooked for NYE. Mechanical or intentional error not sure. Everyone was upset upon hearing the wait would be over an hour from the time reservations occurred. My party wasn’t in a rush so we waited. I’m sure the place was short staffed which added to the delay. My one big complain was the state of the restrooms. There was no one looking after them and you can tell. Water all over the place it was a mess. The staff and chef for our table were amazing and honestly helped with the experience.

   They were out of seafood Diablo and waitress did not let us know for sure if they were out. Disappointed when specific for that my husband and so. Settles to eat something else. Always hard when you go for something and there out of what you went for.

   If I could only rate Benihana's for the skill of the chefs and the food, it would be a five-star review. But Benihana's is not just food, it's the whole restaurant and the staff working together. I don't know if it is the inability to hire or retain staff, either there aren't enough people working to make sure everything is taken care of, or there are lower standards for staff now. A two-hour meal and not once was I offered a refill of my soda or water. The restrooms were the stuff of nightmares. Dripping water, puddles on the floor, toilet paper on the floor of the stalls, and the wastebaskets were overflowing with trash. Lastly, and this is tough, pricing. We all know what the economy and the nation have gone through these past few years. Having said that, the latest price hikes were hard to stomach.

   The server was not very attentive. We waited about an hour after being seated to even have a cook come to the table. Otherwise the chef put on a cute show for the table and the food was delicious.

    Almost an hour to get seated and prices are ridiculous now, probably won’t be back anytime soon.
