Our total dining experience took 2 1/2 hours. We sat for a LONG time before a server approached our table. Finally our drink orders were taken. The iced tea had very little ice and the tea was warm. The refills were no different. It took a long time to take our order. The delicious bread, which usually arrives soon after you arrive, came after our salads. When the entrees were brought to us I noted that the portion of prime rib was much smaller than the last time we were there. The 2 steaks were over done. It seemed that maybe they were short staffed and maybe were having trouble with their oven because I noticed that many tables were served bread at the same time. We were disappointed to hear that one of the desserts would take an additional 20 minutes, for the cookie to bake. So, we waited and we received the ice cream but the cookie never arrived.

Monday night we arrived for our birthday reservation and were made to wait 20 minutes. After being seated, we waited another 20 minutes. We asked the hostess for assistance and she told our waiter that we would like our waters and were ready to order. The waiter looked at us as they spake, then returned to the kitchen. Another guest was seated. After 10 minutes the new guest was greeted and given water while we were still unattended. We wanted to speak to the manager and she was taking photos with some guests (which is fine) but the hostess was too lazy to speak to her. We had to approach the manager ourselves. The manager then proceeded to make excuses even when we were trying to be nice and understanding about the difficulties of the job. (We have family in the restaurant business.) But her lack of taking responsibility and just complaining that she didn't know about it turned us cold. There was no apology, and no recommendations on how to make it right. Just whining about her job. We left and went to Chins where were were seated and served immediately. If we had stayed we'd probably still be waiting to be served. Had this been a one time experience there we'd write this off to a bad night, but this is the third strike. We're out.

Dinner at the Black Angus is always delicious! We decided to have the Campfire Feast and wow was it ever! For starters, we shared the shrimp cocktail, then, we both ordered the cooked to order steak and 2 sides. The wonderful molasses bread is always a treat. We were going to share the carrot cake, but our server, the terrific Ava, was alerted that it was my birthday, so she brought a huge and yummy chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of ice cream and an candle for me to blow out. A trio of servers even sang the traditional Happy Birthday song! It was all great fun and a great way to celebrate another year! Thank you all for a perfectly lovely dinner and evening!! We will be back!

Upon moving to Albuquerque in 1980 I discovered and enjoyed what was Stuart Anderson's Black Angus a lot. Flash forward these years and several corporate owners (and bankruptcies) and while I've probably changed and aged a bit (sarcasm intended) happy to say that Black Angus is still very good and terrific value-for-money. I haven't lived in one of the areas where they have locations for years so this was almost nostalgic and happy to say that the new look was pleasant and needed and that service, food choices, plating, taste and pricing were all very good. Were I living in the area again, I'm certain that the loyalty program and promotions would make it even better but on a pure a la carte basis, it was a great steak, salad and potato feast.

To be fair this is the day after thanksgiving. I don’t think anyone showed up to work. Including the chef. I asked for medium well. But my steak was well done. The steak was tough and hard to chew. It was hard to cut. That’s how tough it was. The soup was supposed to be creamy potato soup wasn’t thick and it tasted bad with too much pepper in it. The appetizer was chicken tenders and the tenders were fried too long so they were almost burnt on the outside and then the chicken was dry on the inside and hard eat. The salad they didn’t put together nicely. They just dumped greens on a plate and dumped dressing on top on a big pile of greens. The greens were not mixed with the dressing. The bread they offered was old and dry. It may have been the worst experience at Black Angus I’ve ever had. Our server was nice. Probably overwhelmed without staff to help. So our food took a very long time to arrive.

We had a reservation for 6:30 p.m. We had arrived and checked in around 6:15 p.m. And was told to wait until they text us when our table is ready. Anyways a good 45 mins. have passed and still no text. So I make my way up to the hostess and this time it's the Manager along with 3 to 4 servers just standing around the hostess station talking amongst themselves. I say "excuse me" and let them know that we had a reservation @ 6:30 p.m. And the Manager tells me very rudely that " they have no available tables plus they're over booked" and that I just need to wait until they call us. "I then asked why did we have to make a reservation if we still have to wait this long and still haven't been seated yet?". And I'm told "oh well" by the Manager. I understand that it was Thanksgiving but why even implement a reservation system when the restaurant isn't even going to stick to that? We waited 1hour and 15 minutes past our reservation time before finally getting seated. My family and myself were very disappointed to say the least.

We were seated 40 minutes later than our reservation was set. We had a very good waitress that had quite a few tables to service. She was very gracious and attentive to what our needs were. Bravo!!! The food was great. Too much dark Turkey on some plates but we traded. Thank you Black Angus for a very lovely Thanksgiving dinner. We’ll be back next year

Very crowded. Maybe not enough servers or overbooked. Reservation at 3; seated at 3:45. Server was good, food was good, good value.
