   Absolutely delicious Scallops followed by wonderful Seabass pan fried. All gluten free. Accompanying Languedoc wine was really lovely and all at a reasonable price with very friendly waiting staff who arranged our taxi home as well as a birthday candle for my husband. A great way to celebrate.

   Arrived and received a warm welcome , taken to table. All 4 of us went for a Christmas lunch £24 for a 3 course and catch up as we all word shifts. Served by 2 different staff, all felt rushed from moment we sat down. Received the bill and well where do I start , charged £5.00 for x2 small dash of lemonade, a glass of lemonade would have been cheaper. 1 of the party is vegetarian so choose fish to be told hand cut chips are a extra so stuck with chips that came with fish only to be charged £2.50 extra for the chips. 3 of party chose turkey to be told gravy comes with it unless we opt for turkey jus is extra, we chose gravy and yes still charged the extra £3.50. When questioned blonde waitress explained that you can’t have turkey without jus which it extra. There was no answer to the question why have we be charged extra when told there is no extra charge. I mean really who would have fish without chips? Who would have a turkey dinner without gravy and who would expect to be charged extra after being told all is included, false advertising. Cafe1 should print the correct price not add extra once customers are eating False advertising and to be honest spoiled the day we had planned We wouldn’t be returning

    All of our meals were of outstanding quality and beautifully presented. Service was excellent and also, after the dining area lights were turned down low, the waiter and waitress singing a rendition of "Happy Birthday To You", before presenting me with my wild fruit crumble sweet (with candle) made it a very special night for us. Many thanks to all at Cafe 1
