   Good meal but didn’t have the wow factor that I was expecting. We were initially given a table at the entrance which also was by the bar. It was cold and noisy with through traffic of people. We asked if we could move further into the restaurant and we were given a nice table. Our bottle of wine wasn’t left at the table and we had to keep asking for a refill. Either leave the bottle at the table or keep on top of refilling the glass. The food overall was good but there were elements that could have been better. The chicken was succulent but lacking in flavour as was the monkish. Combining aniseed with the cabbage was personally not for us. My menu was missing the tasting menu which I would have gone for but it was only when I saw another table ordering it that I knew they had a tasting menu. For a 20th wedding anniversary meal, it is a beautiful setting but for the price, I’m not sure that it’s worth it.

   The food was amazing but the waiter service was appalling. Ordered a £160 bottle of wine with the waiter to be re greeted by the sommelier who did not know what we ordered. Had to find the wine again in the list and re order. Knives/ glasses missing from various placings from our 6 person table. Overall really sub standard service for the quality of food being served which put a dampener on the experience

   Little disappointed by lunch and patchy service. Queuing to get in, wobbly table, slow service, incorrect bill, and couldn’t find the coats.

   The location and venue is stunning, the first server was very nice, but then after that the service from other waiters where very bland, food was very disappointing and very oily, we both had the sea bass and the portion size was incredibly small to start with and was cold and very tasteless other than the obvious oil taste, I’m very underwhelmed considering I waited a month to visit ☹️

   Overpriced. Staff kept asking same things - like -“Do you want help with the wine list?” When two other waiters had already asked. Not overly impressed.

    We chose Clos Maggiore to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, coming back to London a year after our wedding. The venue is beautiful inside, and has a lovely cosey winter feeling. However, for this level of dining & price, our experience was underwhelming at best. On the food front, my fish main was overcooked & watery (and I suspect from frozen) & the sauce lacked seasoning & body. One attraction is the superb wine, however our champagne wasn’t properly chilled to begin with, coming straight from the cellar, & our cocktails were uninspiring. Whilst the service was mostly attentive, it lacked the polish of true multi-star Michelin hospitality, with junior staff who lacked experience making some minor errors, without being properly supervised. I was never given the opportunity to give feedback on any food or wine whilst at the table…. So who would have known my fish was overcooked….? Pretty basic nowadays. On the whole, for a romantic location, decor & great selection of wines available, it’s a reasonable choice…..but there are many, many better places for food, experience, service & hospitality within half a mile alone in London. Overall….. style over substance, and at these prices substances matters most.
