Best Afternoon Tea Restaurants in Deptford

Exquisite! The table service was slightly rushed in the beginning (we prefer the dining vice scarfing our faces like Neanderthals experience). When that was expressed, the service swiftly changed to our liking and we had a lovely time! The food was impeccably curated and masterfully paired by the sommelier.

I celebrated my birthday with afternoon tea at The Library at County Hall, and it was a lovely experience. From the beginning, all the staff were very attentive, friendly and responsive. They brought out a special birthday dessert with a candle, on the house, and wrote a thoughtful birthday message in a card - which was a lovely surprise and made my birthday special. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, with different flavours, and the scones were fresh and not too sweet and tasted great with the fresh vegan cream and fresh jam. The other pastries and desserts were amazing, they tasted fresh and light. It was very relaxing sitting there with a view out to the Houses of Parliament and the Thames, and was fairly quiet though I did go on a weekday Thursday so may be busier on weekends. My wife and her 5 girl friends had a wonderful time. A lovely waitress looked after them from start to finish. The food, the service, the ambience, the decor - absolutely everything was superb - everyone loved it.

This is my second time here and it did not disappoint. One of the best views for a modern tea experience in London! Service is always top notch, entertainment was fabulous, and concierge was both polite and accommodating. I would highly recommend a table for 2 by the window - for larger parties, consider seating where the larger couch seating is positioned facing the view instead of with one&/ back against it.

It was perfect, really perfect. Gillray's Steakhouse exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was inviting, the service impeccable, and the food truly outstanding. Every detail contributed to an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you for such an amazing time.
