Best American Restaurants in Lake Forest

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. The setting is great, love the lighting and vibe. The food was really good. We had salad (wedge was so good), soup, steaks and lobster tail. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes and veggies had so much flavor. Even dessert was great, husband enjoyed the cheesecake and the chocolate covered strawberries I had were delicious. Our server was very nice and attentive. We will definitely be back.

We came up to Eddie Merlot’s last night to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my beautiful wife. Sat at the bar and had a wonderful evening with Sue & Antonio.  Eddie Merlots was as busy as I’ve ever seen it and yet the food came out on time and the service was fantastic! Sue & Antonio they never let you see them sweat!! Tim The general manager, stopped by just to make sure that our evening was meeting the standards. The hostess handed my wife, a beautiful rose, which she loved and cherished. Such a nice touch on Eddie Merlot’s part. I’m telling you you won’t go wrong if you go to Eddie Merlot’s and ask for Sue & Antonio. 

Amazing food. Had the chicken with risotto and it was amazing. It was a quiet nice atmosphere will come and go.

A GREAT dining experience! 1st off, I have to give praise to the SERVICE ! It was top notch from the moment we entered the door, to the meal, & to the checkout. We commented that every customer was receiving attention not only from the waiters but the bussing staff, & even the Maitre'd who would periodically move through the restaurant & check with customers! 2nd was the food. There were diverse choices for everyone. The appetizers were quite good (We had the meatballs with arugula in marinara) & sizeable. The entrees were prepared to perfection. "Francisco's Salmon' was awesome. We had Key Lime Pie for dessert - the best this side of Key West! 3rd was the drink menu. There were various good wine choices. We chose 2 of the 'House Cocktails'! The 'Paloma' & 'Arturo's French Martini' were both awesome! Finally, the ambience was comfortable. The noise level was moderate - a sign that everyone was enjoying the food and atmosphere. Scotty's on Sheridan was a great experience from start to finish!

We enjoyed the Valentines Day menu including bison meatballs, tomato & onion salad, petite filets, mashed potatoes , & chocolate cake! All were accompanied with a California red wine blend. Note to mgr: please put that tomato, onion & blue cheese salad on the regular menu… it was a winner! All food was cooked to perfection. Our server, Stacie, did an excellent job…courteous & fun! Even though it was a busy night, the service & food did not disappoint.
