Having walked past this restaurant for decades and always long to go in I was not disappointed. It still has the feel of Soho in the last century but with delicious modern food and a relaxed atmosphere with attentive but not intrusive staff. The drinks in particular are exceedingly good value and the food was perfect – not too fussy but interesting and just slightly more complicated than you’d ever make it home so a real treat to have out. We were delighted with the whole experience.

This was a convenient restaurant for us having been to St Paul’s Cathedral for evensong and then needing to get on the Thameslink line later. City Thameslinnk station was just 5 mins from the restaurant . Food was good especially for the main courses. I liked the Breton fish stew and my husband said his steak was excellent. The vegetarians in our party were pleased too with a mushroom cassoulet. Wines were reasonably priced and we had an excellent waitress who managed the many orders. Decor feels a bit dated and the puddings were not as delicious as the descriptions. But overall good value and a nice meal in a buzzy location by St Paul’s.
