- MMikeSan Francisco Bay Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoMy friend treated me for my birthday and it was a great experience. The service, the food, the ambience, everything was delightful. The added touch of a birthday flower and the menu with my name on it wishing me a happy birthday was so special. That was the magic touch of a great birthday experience.More infoCucina 8 1/2Price: Expensive• Italian• Midtown West•4.6

- Hhillwalker62New York City •1 review5.0Dined on Nov 13, 2024We made reservations at 4:30 for a pre-theater dinner and got there 15 minutes early and were seated quickly in a comfortable corner banquet seat. The waiter could not have been nicer. He gave us plenty of time to decide. We ordered one pre-theater hamburger dinner and chose the spinach pie as an appetizer and one greek salad. (I was planning to eat the spinach pie with the greek salad)The pie was a huge portion also with another large salad of mixed greens on the side. The greek salad was HUGE loaded with big chunks of feta olives, cukes, and peppers with a big thick slice of toast on the side. The toast was warm and soft in the middle. I have had this elsewhere and the bread can be cold and hard as a rock so this was really appreciated. My partner was very happy with the hamburger which was substantial and cooked perfectly medium rare on another toasted but soft and warm bun. The fries were outstanding and the spinach pie and greek salad were delicious. My partner and I enjoyed this meal so much. The waiter was smiling and laughing with us. Also, importantly, for pre theater, the food came out very fast. We had let the waiter know we had a show to go to. There is a cozy atmosphere in this diner and you can watch the bustle of the city through the windows as you sit. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. What else can I say.. everything was fantastic! We skipped desserts and probably missed out on something special. Eating out is pricey these days anywhere you go. After tip it came to 60 bucks. We just drank water so that price just covered the food and tip. Compared to other places in the city where we have eaten we felt we got great value for the money and could have had enough take home for meals the next day but heading to Lincoln Center unfortunately we couldn't take it with us. Thank you Carnegie Diner for making a memorable night at the theater even more special.More infoCarnegie Diner & CafePrice: Moderate• American• Midtown West•4.5
