Best Contemporary British Restaurants in Stanmer

Without doubt, the best starter I have ever had the delight of - venison steak tartare. Had it once here two years ago and it was delicious but, oh Lord, Christmas 2024 version was superlative. Whomsoever prepared it, you have my food fealty forever!

The staff at the Ivy Asia were on absolute top form on a very busy Christmas eve and our service was impeccable. Selection of wines is large and the steaks we ate were excellent.

Overall it was very nice but we didn’t understand why the waiter told us we couldn’t have the champagne that we had selected to have with our afternoon tea and could only have Prosecco. It was an option on the menu however, they were unable to serve it to us. The waiter mumbled something, we thought he said they couldn’t open a whole bottle of champagne for two glasses.

Lovely place with different little areas within the rooms to suit different group sizes. We had a group of 5 and the food was excellent. A good range to suit all tastes from pie or fish and chips to venison, smoked carrot or pork belly. All beautifully presented with amazing flavour. Service was excellent with lovely, friendly staff. A great experience especially as it was for my birthday
