Best Modern Southern American Restaurants in The Marigny

We went to The Dakota for our anniversary. Positives: the food was good but not amazing; our table server was absolutely amazing; the ambience is very pretty although we were in a smaller room and it’s not as lovely as the rest of the restaurant; the cocktails were really good and generous; the prices were not outrageous. Negatives: we had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes for a table; the bartender took our order, did not make our drinks; walked away and started doing other things and then forgot what we had ordered; the specialty soup was really bland and the bone marrow bones seemed a little old; they seemed to be out of a few things. It’s a good restaurant and worth a visit. I don’t think I would go back for a special occasion but maybe for a regular dinner-out evening.

Boy oh boy where do I begin? Best place in the world. Lulas is my goat. Would come here every single day of my life if I could. Bottomless vodka amazing food. Great atmosphere, would spend my entire day here. Life is so great when I am at Lulas.

The vibe was absolutely lovely, can't wait to go back for a jazzy brunch on the patio! Quick service and delicious food!

One of the best meals we've had at Tchefuncte's!! The dry aged Porterhouse was cooked perfectly and the Cocktails were spot on! Thank you Chef and Staff!

Everything was excellent. Food portions were on the smaller side, and for the price it’s not a great value… however everything was executed perfectly and our waitress was wonderful.
