Exceptional meal and service. Quality was exceptional. On the pricey side butt worth it due to superb quality and good sized portions Appetizers and salad were served family style and could have been a good lunch by itself. Entres were delicious. We had striped bass, flat iron steak and chicken. All 3 were perfectly cooked and tasty but not overly salty. Strong recommendation 5 stars

From the initial warm and friendly greeting from Conrad the Maitre D’ Hotel and Sommelier you will be experiencing a 5 course tasting delight never to be experienced anywhere else on the Monterey Peninsula! Chef Michael makes it a point to welcome each guest table before dinner service to ensure they are ready for culinary experience like no other and ensures there are no allergens to affect their tasting experience. For an additional charge, each course will be paired with an exceptional wine to highlight the nuisances of every dish. Rachel our wine server had extensive knowledge of each wine served and made the pairing so much more enjoyable. Jesus and Eli our food servers were always on point and added to the attentiveness of the entire staff! We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the quality of the food served at every course. The Basque cheese cake was off the chart! The French Laundry was an icon of the Napa Valley in its day but the new rising icon of the Monterey Peninsula is the Coastal Kitchen! Thank You Chef Michael and the Monterey Plaza Hotel for a wonderful 3 star Michelin dining experience! The Coastal Kitchen truly offers exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey!

Another fantastic Thanksgiving Day dinner experience from Chef Michael Rotondo and crew! If you have ever experienced the Coastal Kitchen 5 star meal, then this is the 5 star Thanksgiving Day dinner meal done right! Diestel family turkey cooked to perfection with outstanding side dishes of cranberry sauce, green beans, corn bread stuffing, mouth watering baby carrots, variety of salads and if turkey is not your style then the slow cooked prime rib with Yukon golden mashed potatoes and gravy can’t be beat either! Thank you Chef for such a wonderful meal!! We will be back next year!

I cannot say enough good things about The Sur House! You will not find a more gorgeous view, amazing food, and the most wonderful staff! We say the same thing every time we visit, and it’s what keeps us coming back! It’s the most special place in Big Sur!
