- MMichaelLas Vegas •18 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoI enjoyed my experience here very much. I would say it’s the best French food I’ve had in the US. I started out with the onion soup. I’m not a fan of it in general, but I enjoyed it very much. Their Gruyère was soft, creamy, and salty. I even asked where they get it, it was so good. I haven’t found a Gruyère here in the US that I like. The broth was flavorful but not too salty. It had a beautiful presentation with melted cheese over the cup. I had the black truffle pasta with chicken made in a Parmesan wheel where it’s flambéed with cognac. The presentation was artistic and the taste was flavorful—very umami, fulfilling, and earthy. For dessert, I went with crepes. It covered a standard dinner plate folded into a square. It was light, fluffy but not overly eggy. It melted in my mouth and was smooth and delicate. It had hand whipped cream and Nutella with hazelnut pieces. It was the best crepe I have eaten. I would say they can improve on the cocktails. We tried a few and didn’t really like any. Overall, it has a very hip, relaxed vibe. It’s a garden spot in the middle of LA—very quiet and enjoyable. The service is as attentive and pleasant. This is a phenomenal place to eat and savor life.More infoLe Petit ParisPrice: Moderate• French• Downtown•4.6
- NnealvipLos Angeles •13 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe have been to Shirley Brasserie several times and truly love it. The food, drinks and service are seriously top notch with a well rounded, French leaning menu. The restaurant is decorated in classic Hollywood vibes and is situated in the lobby of the famed Roosevelt Hotel. Cocktails were delicious and the bread was warm and fresh baked. For food we had: Charcuterie cheese board, the Shirley salad, a special, fall salad of persimmons and leeks, steak tatare, duck breast, French fries and brussel sprouts. Everything was prepared with super fresh ingredients and the flavors were all perfect. Unfortunately we were too full to eat dessert so the chocolate mousse will have to wait until the next time we are there....probably in a couple weeks. Add this to your list of Hollywood favorite restaurants and thank me later.More infoShirley BrasseriePrice: Expensive• French American• Hollywood•4.4
