- JJaneWashington, D.C. Area •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoLoved tea at Lady Camellia! Food was fresh and tasty and was more than anyone could eat so we all got to take home pretty boxes with leftover treats. Great tea selection, lovely china, pretty view, great service, and absolutely amazing scones. Arrive early to try to find on-street parking, but if non is available there is a $15 lot between the tearoom and the river. A bit pricey for parking but worth the convenience.More infoLady CamelliaPrice: Very Expensive• Afternoon Tea• Alexandria•4.6
- FForkmacheteWashington, D.C. Area •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoI recently dined at La Grande Boucherie, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! As someone with celiac disease, dining out can often be stressful, but the team at La Grande Boucherie went above and beyond to ensure my safety and comfort. Before my visit, I reached out to let them know about my dietary restrictions, and their response was incredibly reassuring. They informed me that their head chef and kitchen team were fully aware of my needs and took meticulous care to prevent cross-contamination. While their fryer isn’t gluten-free (so fries were off the menu for me), they made excellent alternative recommendations and ensured that everything I ordered was completely safe. The food was great! The salads were fresh and vibrant, and the steak and eggs were absolutely delicious—cooked to perfection. What made the experience even better was the effort the chef took to make all the appetizers gluten-free, so I could safely share them with my friends. The service was impeccable, and I left feeling both satisfied and safe, which is rare for someone with celiac disease. La Grande Boucherie has set a high standard for gluten-free dining, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!More infoLa Grande Boucherie - DCPrice: Very Expensive• French• Washington•4.4
- JJohnNew York City •16 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoSince the closure of la-bergerie in Old town in 2016 which operated for 40 years there has not been an upscale elegant French restaurant in old town Alexandria. La Refuge has wonderful food but it’s more casual and very small and cramped. Josephine checked all the boxes, elegant decor, great wine list and wonderful food. The subtle lighting and dark wood decor made it a wonderful place to celebrate the anniversary of our first date that led to a long marriage. We will be back.More infoJosephine - Old TownPrice: Expensive• French• Alexandria•4.7
