Best French Restaurants in Moraga

Very nice ambiance if not a little noisy due to the open kitchen. Disappointed we could not order cocktails. Ordered Cesar salad with dressing on the side and it came heavily dressed. Other food was delicious. Not for everyday dining out as it's expensive, but a nice treat.

Food was delicious (I had the coq au vin and my friend had the scallops). Service was great as well. I've been wanting to try this place forever and I will definitely be back.

Impressive selection of champagnes and a relatively small food menu. It's a fairly small place but bright and sorta minimalist. Comfy seats to hang out in. Service was OK (we had to ask for water a couple times and ask for refills). The champagne flights were nice (3 small pours) and we got nice explanations about the houses and the champagnes themselves. The cheese board was quite tasty with 3 types of cheeses and some smaller sides (olives, fruit, jam, etc.). We didn't get any explanation about the cheeses though, or even what type of cheese they were. Unsurprisingly it was pretty expensive for 2 flights and the cheese board, but the quality all around was quite good. Definitely a nice place to get good champagne if you're feeling like splurging on something light to eat & drink.

A jewel box of a restaurant in Montclair. Great ambiance; service is relaxed and attentive; beautiful craft cocktails; nice wine list and fabulous food. We were there for Christmas Eve. It was warm & cozy - with a nice holiday vibe. We both had the Waygu steak - perfectly prepared with delicious potatoes Au gratin. On a prior visit, I devoured the delicious Dip hamburger. This is one of my very favorite Bay Area restaurants. Can’t wait to return.

This was our first time trying La Fontaine and it was fantastic. It was Christmas Eve so pretty busy. Got seated right away and the restaurant is very warm and friendly. The service was good, water and bread right away. The food was amazing! Good wine list too. Definitely going back. Already have plans for birthdays.
