Food options were great on the 3 course meal menu and portions were generous. The server didn’t give us a hard time for sharing my 3 course meal with my 8 year old and it was so much food we still had leftovers. Service was on the slow side but we didn’t mind because that meant more time to enjoy the beautiful view and the ambience. It was also nice that valet was free if you eat at the restaurant. After the meal, we walked around the beautiful resort grounds and the area outside of the main building that had a Christmas tree and outdoor games.More infoAmaya at Fairmont Grand Del MarPrice: Very Expensive• French• Carmel Valley•4.4

They have an array of cocktails with a variety of liquors- so there is definitely something for everyone (even a selection of cocktails!). The food was French with exquisite presentation. We ate the steak tartare, onion tart, pork croquette and baguette with chicken skin butter! WOW! Everything had intense flavors that complemented each other! For entrees, my husband and I shared the Australian Wagyu steak (large, like 16oz I think), steak & frites and the lamb. The night took a spectacular turn with the chef herself came out with a couple entrees! It was such a pleasure to meet such a badass chef! Overall, we were thrilled with our first experience and can’t wait to go back! The atmosphere was sexy/swanky, and despite loud noise levels, a good time was definitely had by all!More infoLe CoqPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• La Jolla•4.4

Cocktails from menu are twists on classic cocktails, and they were truly extraordinary, as well as the off menu cocktails we ordered, and we've sampled some of the best. Food sampled at bar: Crudo, Tartare, Pain et Beurre, and Gougere. All were phenomenal. Service at bar was very attentive and knowledgable, they know what they're doing, and they do it well. Cool vibe and music playing from reel to reel player in bar. Very open, busy kitchen with frequent calls from cooks, "Oui, chef!" Great for foodies and cocktail nerds. Pricey, some may not appreciate the value.More infoJeune et JoliePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Carlsbad•4.9
