North Pond is an absolute gem. From the moment we stepped in and gave our name at the host stand, we were warmly welcomed, setting the tone for an exceptional evening. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting, with the beauty of Lincoln Park providing a stunning backdrop. Our server was knowledgeable and engaging, taking the time to walk us through the menu and wine pairings with care and enthusiasm. The tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular—each dish showcased the chef’s creativity and meticulous attention to detail. The flavors were inventive and harmonious, and the wine pairings elevated every course beautifully. My wife and I always cherish our time at North Pond. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that lingers with you long after the evening ends. If you’re looking for a restaurant that seamlessly blends artistry, flavor, and a sense of place, North Pond is a must-visit.

Really good experience with great food. Loved the free bread service which you never get anywhere anymore! Linguine and clams was a little too garlicky for me, but the mussels, lamb, small bites, and cauliflower gratin were fantastic. Service was great too.

One of my favorite neighborhood gems. Their steak frites are unreal—so delicious and just like the ones we've had in Paris. Everything on the menu is great, and the service is always spectacular. Perfect for date nights, special occasions, family dinners, etc.

The ambiance is so lovely during Christmas and so festive. We sat at the Bar with Our martinis with blue cheese olives waiting for a table as we wanted to be seated by the Christmas tree. We began with oysters and the wagyu carpaccio, pleasing aesthetic, but even more delish. My Husband had the ribeye, which was a special and we ordered 3 sides; Gouda macaroni and cheese served in a copper crock, the haricots verts and frites, all so delish. I tasted his ribeye, but enjoyed all of the sides. My Husband had the raspberry sorbet for dessert accompanied by an espresso martini which I had as well. The piece of resistance (not spelled as pronounced) was it was 1/2 price wine on the bottles. We enjoyed a bottle with dinner and even brought another bottle to Our hotel to enjoy.

French Bistro doesn’t get any more authentic in Chicago than Le Bouchon, which maintains its excellence in the tradition of Jean-Claude. Service is quintessentially Chicagoan in professionalism and personality, while lacking in the typical French diffidence. Can’t misses: steak frites or moules et frites, tarte à l’oignon or crôque madame. Specials are spéciales and a late lunch can make the rest of your day.
