Best French Restaurants in San Anselmo

Another amazing meal at our favorite French bistro in San Francisco. Sit at the bar for more room and great people-watching. We had the most perfect escargot and steak frites that we have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Do not come here expecting a restaurant. It is a traditional french cafe/bar with incredible food and service.

We had the best dinner we’ve had in Mill Valley in years. There was a prix fix menu for Valentine’s Day and it was cohesive, perfectly executed and delicious. The dinner consisted of a salmon blini, followed by a mushroom bisque & little gem salad with Dungeness crab, avocado and pistachio. The main courses were halibut with sunchokes or a filet mignon with duchess potatoes and wine sauce. The desserts were profiteroles in a chocolate sauce or an almond cake with raspberry coulis. Sublime! Lastly, the service was excellent: our server was efficient, attentive and humorous. It was the perfect evening!

There were four of us dining at 5pm on Valentine's day for the prix-fixe 3 course menu. It was beyond our expectations.....lobster risotto, duck a l'orange, beef tenderloin and petrale sole. Every dish was served hot, the flavors and presentations superb. Our server Samantha was attentive and charming. We did sit back a bit due to the fact that there was live music and and we wanted to be able to converse among ourselves.

Lovely French restaurant that reminded us of a bistro in Paris. Excellent food! The lamb chops and scallops were perfect executed. Inside a bit tight but cozy.

Very french. Feel like you’re in Paris. Limited menu but we both enjoyed what we had. Helpful wait staff. When we first arrived the music made it hard to hear each other and we are both slightly hard of hearing. We asked them if they could lower the music and they turned it off. So appreciated!
