"Mantra" is the sister restaurant to "The Indian Garden" Chicago. Since coming into business; our family at "IG" has offered an exploration of India's culture though its cuisine. We wanted to share the Indian tradition Atithi Devo Bhau, the supreme importance of the guests with Schiller Park.Elegant and inviting; with a sumptuous decor awash in the hue's of India's signature spices and decor, the senses were meant to be indulged. Every aspect of Mantra; the food, the decor, the ambiance was designed to excite your senses while also ushering them through the passage of Culinary Nirvana.

Kabul House offers a taste of appetizing Afghan dishes that have existed in the history of Afghanistan for thousands of years. Our restaurant emphasizes high quality Afghan food, as if prepared from the fingers of any Afghan mother. Our extensive full course menu includes lamb, seafood, beef & chicken dishes as well as vegetarian specialties that include pumpkin, eggplant, spinach & other fresh vegetable options. Our menu hosts a large variety of selections fit for anyone, from vegetarians to meat lovers alike. In most of our recipes, a limited amount of fresh spices & seasonings are used to season the dish in order to create a sensational taste that is not too overwhelming. The wait staff very helpful w menu items. The samosas are a pass, dry and lacked flavor. The lamb masala and chicken vindaloo were very good w the right amount of heat for us. The coconut creme brûlée was delicious. The restaurant is noisy but we were in a side booth and had no trouble w conversation.

Everything was full-flavored without being too spicy. Creative and beautiful plating, and all the flavors worked really well together. Generous portions and thoughtful service! If we didn't live a few hours away we'd be back weekly! Easy to find free parking nearby.

I'm not a big Indian food guy but Mughal has very good food at a reasonable price. Butter Chicken and Saag Paneer are top notch. Garlic Naan the best though it loses its warmth quickly so order one at a time. I've been here with family and friends and they all echo my sentiment. If you like Indian food but have family or friends who are hesitant, bring them to Mughal. They'll be converted.
