This elegantly attired restaurant, named after one of the oldest civilizations in the world, offers a menu that features many classic dishes from the Indian subcontinent like an assortment of kebabs, curries and biryanisslow cooked rice dishes which feature vegetables or meat and many aromatic spices. However, the menu at Indus Valley / Manhattan Valley also has some unusual offerings like chicken chat and chicken samosas, which do not normally feature on menus of Indian restaurants. Also, instead of the weekend buffet which is considered to be de rigueur at an Indian eatery, Indus Valley / Manhattan Valley offers a 'lunch special' which can be had in various permutations and combinations at different prices.

Welcome to Lungi,Lungi blends the cooking styles of South India and Sri Lanka and reflects the cultural upbringing of restaurateur and chef Albin Vincent who grew up in Kanyakumari, India, with deep roots in Sri Lanka. His culinary journey is rich with stories from his grandmother, an extraordinary cook who instilled his passion for food from a young age, teaching him the art of traditional Sri Lankan and Southern Indian dishes. Even though authentic South Asian fare has been in vogue in New York City for quite some time, it's been hard to find the bold, flavorful fare of Sri Lanka outside of Staten Island. Vincent, with Chef Vasantha Kumar from Tamil Nadu and Sous Chef Andrew Simethy from Kerala, offer both within a vibrant menu transporting diners into the homes and side street shacks of their native lands.

The food at BAZI is outstanding. We make a point of having dinner at BAZI every time we come to NY from Boston. Every dish is delicious so it is difficult to chose. This trip we had the lamb ka akulfBarraeh, Paratwala kofta, Darib ka kulfa, rice and raita. Everything was Terrific. We ate on the early side-around 6:30- and the noise level was civilized with conversation easy.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Manhattan Valley with a group of friends, and it was a fantastic experience all around! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff, and the service remained top-notch throughout our meal. We started with the vegetable samosas, and they were absolutely delicious. Crispy on the outside and packed with a flavorful filling, they were perfectly complemented by a variety of chutneys that added an extra layer of depth to each bite. The chutneys ranged from tangy to sweet, and each one paired wonderfully with the samosas. For the main course, we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimp Masala, along with rice and garlic naan. The flavors were bold and fresh, and each dish was made to perfection. The chicken in the tikka masala was tender, and the shrimp in the masala was juicy and succulent, absorbing the rich, aromatic spices. The rice was fluffy, and the garlic naan—soft and warm—was the ideal accompaniment to soak up all the flavorful sauces. The food was so good that the table went quiet for a bit, everyone too absorbed in their meal to speak! But beyond the food, the service was excellent, with attentive staff making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Overall, this was a memorable dining experience, and I highly recommend Manhattan Valley for anyone in the area looking for fresh, flavorful Indian cuisine with great service. We’ll definitely be back!
