Come enjoy old Italian-style dishes, known today as Italian comfort food, at The Kitchen Consigliere as executive chef Angelo Lutz preserves the heritage of real, authentic homestyle cooking. His spot is an informal BYOB Italian eatery with an emphasis on the peasant dishes found in traditional homestyle Italian cooking. Influenced by the dishes he ate as a youngster, Angelo's cooking style stems from teaching and recipes taught by his mother and grandmother. The atmosphere is informal and the food and menus change often, allowing The Kitchen Consigliere to be a cozy, quaint and not over-the-top eatery for the entire family. And good food isn't the only reason to eat at the café. The real adventure is meeting with the real kitchen consigliere; you will come for the food but stick around for the conversation.

Had dinner the night after Christmas. Place was very busy, but we were seated promptly at our reservation time. This is a neighborhood restaurant with tight seating, but very comfortable and inviting. Service was attentive and friendly. We had the little neck clams over linguini and the salmon. Both were very good. This is a BYOB. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but not a showstopper. This was our first time there and we will definitely return.

We had not been to Il Fiore for some time, as we have been visiting some of the newer restaurants in the area, but we are happy we went again. The service was very attentive with every person making sure all your needs are being met. The food was outstanding and the restaurant was very accommodating. There were 3 specials, we split one as an appetizer and ordered the other 2 as Entrees. I am not sure why we had not been here recently, but we are planning more frequent visits, a great night out.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Fiorella's several times before, both in the downstairs dining area and with their pasta club dinner series. This was the first time, however, we visited with an 8 month old. Friends of ours were in town from California, and we really wanted to show them an example of a dinner that makes us appreciate Philadelphia so much. The staff was incredibly patient and accommodating with our young pasta lover. The noise level and other diners that evening made our experience feel simply like you were eating in a friend's living room. We're grateful for Fiorella's in many ways, and always suggest this restaurant for smaller, more intimate gatherings for friends and family.
