Best Italian Restaurants in East New York

My husband and I have been going to Dee's for 16 years. It's a great family-friendly restaurant with a casual upscale vibe — perfect for a laid-back date night. We loved the friendly atmosphere, the service and the menu. Our favorites were the rosemary focaccia, salads, pasta and pizza. Over the years, the food and service suffered. We would go back every so often to taste-test, and to our delight, the level of food and service returned to what we had initially loved. Last night we took our parents there and everything was perfect. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. We had the rosemary focaccia, Dee's salad, short ribs, spaghetti and meatballs, the chicken milanese and some sides. We also had a great bottle of Montepulciano (which turned out to be half-price — what a nice surprise). Can't wait to go back with our extended family.

We are regular. We love it here. We had Kale salad and tuna tartar for appetizers today. Both are so good. We'll be back soon.

Very nice ambience cozy delicious food great service and the two hostesses Iris and Alessia were very lovely.

This was our first time dining at Il Poeta and we will definitely return. The newly renovated restaurant is charming and welcoming. The food, service and ambiance was wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit.

As always an absolutely amazing time! The staff, food and place is simply incredible! A hidden gem in the heart of Ridgewood! Definitely must try and I tell everyone about it! Love this place!
