Best Italian Restaurants in St. James

This spot is a pretty sweet hidden gem in Winnipeg. The pizzas are fantastic, and the calamari is great too. The only downside for me was the bread served with the tartare—it needs something with crunch and texture, like a crouton. The soft bread makes the whole dish feel too mushy, which just doesn’t work. That said, I still highly recommend the place!

Amazing bartender with lots of knowledge about drinks and very enjoyable to talk to. Would definitely recommend sitting at the bar but you’ll have a great experience either way.

Our table placement was absolutely perfect, tucked into a little corner in the back. We had an older gentleman as our waiter and it was the best service we have received in a while. The food and drinks were also amazing with fantastic recommendations. Second year in a row coming here for Valentine’s Day and will 100% do it for upcoming years.

We made a reservation and asked for a specific table and were very pleased that Cibo accommodated our request. The ambiance is beautiful and we wanted a table to look out at the river. We were going to the theatre and were a bit pressed for time, our server was fantastic to ensure that our orders were expedited quickly and our food was served promptly, hot, and delicious!

The food and value and service were all exceptional. My only complaint is that there was a LOUD patron near us and due to tables being sort of close, we were forced to listen to his swearing and constant banter. We would go back though as everything else was excellent.
