Best Middle Eastern Restaurants in Dunbar-Southlands

The food was amazing. I never had much experience with Persian food, although I do love Mediterranean food. I was so happy to have had this experience. The restaurant is beautiful! We started with the smoked olives (DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS AMAZING APPETIZER!) then for mains we got the duck fesenjoon and the braised beef and holy smokes they were amazing. Such complex yet perfectly balanced flavours, excellent textures and meat cooked perfectly. For dessert we got the saffron ice cream. It was pretty but the texture of the ice cream was meh, and I wasn't too into the flavour. It might just not be for me. For drinks we got the pomegranate margarita and sour cherry negroni and I would recommend both but moreso the pomegranate margarita. Service was great and everything came out pretty quickly as well.

Dined here for Valentine’s. Prix fixe menu offered lots of choice, with some of the small dishes being excellent (e.g. chicken kebab, mushroom coconut soup). Portions aren’t overwhelming, but we did not come away hungry. Live entertainment was a plus and did not overwhelm the place or make it difficult to have a conversation. The casual and laid-back atmosphere suited our mood.

Incredible first time experience. We sat at the bar, as those were the only seats we could get. But it was fantastic as the the bartender / mixologist was amazing to watch and very fun to chat with -- he loved his craft. The staff and owners were also friendly and we chatted with them for a while. The food was off the charts, and the portion sizes were great. We were stuffed by the end, which is rare in the city now with portion sizes usually being so small. Will definitely go back again and again.

The service has been always too slow there They are always short staff and even if they are not they barely check in on your table

The food was delicious, and compatible with our table of mixed omnivore and veggie friends. We had an incredible meal and a wonderful time! This is the kind of business worth supporting!
