Best Modern Australian Restaurants in Dulwich Hill

Food was good, but service wasn’t. After waiting 15 minutes at our table we had to call a server over just to get water. Food arrived quickly as did the drinks once we were able to order. Very noisy and we were sitting near the bubble machine which was annoying. The teenagers we were dining with loved the swing seat and it was a good birthday treat. I had been wanting to go to Th e Grounds for a long time and was happy to see it, not sure I understand the hype and don’t need to go back.

Love this place. Not sure why in Australia businesses ask for tips especially in a country that has fair work Australia especially in a time when the cost of living is so high. It just creates an awkward silence when the option is created. That said my friends who were from Victoria and had their flight delayed. We were thankful they held the table. They loved the food and raved and look forward to coming again.

Not happy will not return even though previous experience with the chef’s other venues have been 5⭐️. Entree prawns/oyster combo dish offered disappointing and questionable non fresh mushy king prawns. Lobster should have pre cut flesh or accompanied by better cutting knife to assist the eating experience. Dessert “Vanilla Cheesecake” presented as chocolate cake squares without explanation??? Maître D did not show up at our table yet seemed to be circulating the room?

Excellent cuisine! The eggplant and the barramundi was delicious. There was an issue while booking and the number on file didn't work to cancel and no option to cancel on the app (you get charged a fee for a no show and to book a slot). Other than that it was great experience.

Very happy with this collab KOI X Sebastian. Very happy with the kakigori and paired well with the mocktail. Plus point we got the best seats right at the center and served by Chef Reynold & Chef Sebastian. The Kakigoris taste so light and not overly sweet so we still have some room for KOI cake afterwards. Excellent!!
