- EElizabethChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoThe whole experience exceeded our expectations. Joshua, our server, was phenomenal and had great recommendations. The grilled broccolini salad was mind-blowing! The atmosphere within the restaurant was personal and warm. It was not too loud or too quiet. Every table has a gorgeous view of the city and river. Definitely a splurge experience, but so worth it.More infoGibsons ItaliaPrice: Expensive• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.8
- LLesleyChicago / Illinois •9 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe love Bar Mar and can always count on an exceptional experience. Firstly, it’s beautiful in the restaurant, and there’s not a bad seat in the place. It’s bright, airy, luxurious and so well-designed with intricate and dazzling fixtures. Everything we’ve ever ordered has been delicious, and it’s always played so beautifully. During this visit, we ordered the burger and lobster roll (and split them since they’re both so good). Both were seasoned well and the burger had element such as peppers that provided it with an elevated and different flavor that was so savory and delicious. The lobster roll was well seasoned and cooked to perfection - very tender. Last but certainly not least, the service here is always outstanding. Our server Jefferson was so welcoming, kind and prompt. Jefferson made my sister’s birthday very special! We were surprised with some hamachi cones and key lime pie thanks- both of which were out-of-this-world delicious, and we will be ordering those when we return! Best key lime pie we have ever had! Thank you so much to Jefferson for making our day!More infoBar MarPrice: Expensive• Spanish• River North (Chicago)•4.6
- JjulieChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoit is loud and dark so may be hard for folks with limited vision or challenges hearing. The food was AMAZING . Everything was delicious--highly recommend the fries and the prosciutto app--the drinks were tasty --passion fruit cocktail an white wine. The staff was attentive but did not rush or hover. They were kind and accommodating. We were, however, seated at one of the tables nearest the host stand and it was COLD. Very blustery every time someone came in. We do want to come back in better weather and maybe even sit outside.More infoPizzeria PortofinoPrice: Expensive• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.8
