- JJOHNAConnecticut •4 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe hadn't been here since in changed names/owners a few years ago. Four diners ordering 4 completely different meals - it was hard to choose which one we liked best. Starting with the street corn dip and poached pear; both were a hit, but the party was divided on whether or not they would have liked the pear served warm (it was served cold) and filled with honey mascarpone and lots of pistachios. We moved onto the main courses of chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes; steak with truffle fries; orecchiette with broccoli and sausage; hamburger with fries. Everything was cooked to perfection (steak medium rare, chicken crispy and not at all dry, burger medium with just a hint of pink in the center.) The drinks were creative (did not skimp on the alcohol!) and plentiful, refilled quickly by our attentive server. Desserts as always tend to make or break a meal; these desserts did not disappoint. Banana tres leches cake, Amaretto crème brulee and the special cookie and ice cream combination along with coffee and digestif. A special treat for the evening - Live entertainment in the bar area. Not too loud, we could still have dining room conversation over the music, but found ourselves singing along to most of the tunes. There is definitely something here for everyone!More infoUptownPrice: Moderate• American• Ansonia•4.5

- JJosephNew York City •3 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoVery Impressed with Encore. Service was top notch. Food was excellent. We chose the fixed price menu, which offered plenty of choices and comes with appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. Live piano music that was just loud enough to be enjoyable.More infoEncore by GoodfellasPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• New Haven•4.7

- CCarylNew York City •1 review4.0Dined on Mar 2, 2025Our table was waiting for us at our appointed reservation time. We were cordially greeted by the hostess ansd our waitress. In general the service was excellent although there were a few things we requested that we had to remind our waitress about. A person who appeared to be the manager came to our table to ask several times if everything was OK and we appreciated that. Our waitress spilled grease on the shirt and coat of one of our group member and although she apologized there was no offer to pay for cleaning. She also almost poked him in the head with a bone, but fortunately I saw it about to happen and backed him off. In general the food and drinks were good (not great). We shared the fried polenta and fried calamari appetizers and they were both good. My husband and I had the Berkshire Pork Chop and it was excellent and served over a sweet potato hash with brussel sprouts. Two members of our group ordered the French Onion Soup and it was way too salty for anyone to eat. We ordered three desserts to share -- the Key Lime Pie which was good, the Carrot Cake Tower which was not as good as I had hoped (I am a Carrot Cake afficianado) and the Mudslide Pie which was the best of the three. All in all we had a great time, the atmosphere was nice, we were in a smaller room so once the large group left it quieted down a bit and the food was good, not excellent. Wouldn't run back for dinner but would probably go for lunch or a burger. It was a little pricey for what we got. $650 for a party of 6 with 2 appetizers, 3 desserts, drinks and a corkage fee for brining our own bottle of wine. Wish I could say it was great for that price!More infoFounders House Pub & PatioPrice: Expensive• American• Milford•4.7
