Best Southern American Restaurants in Kingwood / Humble / Atascocita

It's gumbo weather, y'all! My husband had that big ole bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo and loved every bite! I had the steak and avocado salad with 4 big onion rings on top and it was delicious! Our waiter was Chris and he did an excellent job of serving. The ambiance is so nice and this is a fairly quiet place to eat so you can hear conversation easily.

Love the food and the service was fantastic from the moment we walked in to the time we left.

We keep coming back to Republic Grille because it's consistently good! Craig was our waiter and he was excellent. All of the 3 who were there drive over 30 miles to get there and would recommend it to anyone for a great value and excellent meal with consistently good service. The lamb burger was inventive and delicious. My only suggestion overall is to offer fresh lemonade! :-)

Three of us met for lunch there today and had a perfect experience. I got the Yardbird, 1/4 fried chicken (I chose white meat) and it was some of the best fried chicken I have had in recent memory. It came with collard greens and mashed potatoes, both of which were great, although the potatoes were a bit dry. A friend got chicken and waffle with same fried chicken on a good looking waffle. The other got the bacon-cheeseburger with ground and braised beef. It looked totally awesome with hand cut fries. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server was attentive and checked on us a couple of times without being intrusive. I would strongly recommend this restauarant!

Best food ever! The staff was wonderful, the chef is charming. The food was so good and the desert was something to write home about. We will be back in two years . Gumbo 5 stars. Fried chicken 5 stars can’t say enough about this restaurant and they accommodated a large group
