Capturing the real essence of Spain was always the aim, and with the addition of Bar Rioja opening opposite ( this was previously Bar Pepito, London’s very first sherry bar) we came a King’s Cross institution. Our lively bar and restaurant sprawls around a hidden courtyard, coming alive in the Summer, full of people enjoying a frosted mug of Spanish cerveza, a glass of sangria or a Rioja Glass from Bar Rioja. Lunchtime was v quiet in the restaurant for Xmas week with only a few tables occupied - staff/management eating and sitting indicated it was staying quiet. Even so, service was slow at times and, whilst the majority of the food was v good, the calamari was just ok. all of the above affected the value for money. Maybe just a bad day as previously been excellent.

Tucked away but what a find. the staff were amazing, friendly and so helpful when choosing dishes - ALL of which were amazing... The wine was also exactly what you'd expect it do be and slipped down easily to compliment the food. The atmosphere was just right with tables laughing and the noise level was just right. Highly recommend this place and will certainly come back for more.
