Best Steak Restaurants in South Gate

I'd long wanted to dine at Musso & Frank Grill and finally had my chance tonight. It's an L.A. classic that's turned out elegant comfort food and delectable martinis for 105 years. My husband and I were not disappointed: the restaurant's storied history, ambience, food, and service all combined to make a memorable dining experience. We started with cocktails (a St. George Terroir martini for me, a Fern Dell for him), the baked escargot, and the wedge salad — all delicious (I especially enjoyed the house-made bleu cheese dressing that came with the salad). For our mains, my husband ordered the Saturday special: Braised Short Ribs of Beef with vegetables (diced carrots — too many, he thought — and peas) and mashed potatoes. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and so flavorful! I had the NY Strip, cooked medium rare, and it was perfectly prepared. We shared the baby broccolini, which was grilled and had a wonderful char. Our waiter Leonardo brought us a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a candle, as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. Service was thoughtful, courteous, and efficient. We had a delightful experience and look forward to our next opportunity to dine at Musso & Frank!

What can’t you say about this place!!! We had great service from Darren and Wilson, they were constantly checking on us, which was pretty hard, considering it was very busy for a Thursday night, but they prevailed. The food was Top Notch!! We went back for Japanese A5 wagyu, at least 4-6 times just for that particular cut of meat. Considering this was our first time, they had more than enough on their $99 menu to highly satisfy us. Thank you Niku X, particularly Darren and Wilson, we had the greatest experience!!! We will definitely be coming back!!!!

Food was terrific. Tomahawk steak outstanding, as was sea bass. Side dishes excellent as well. Only gripe was with service. Restaurant was not at all crowded, and while we (three diners) were seated immediately, our waiter appeared for about 20 seconds to greet us, but then inexplicably disappeared for 22 minutes. Episodic appearances continued, which was annoying, although he was a nice guy and actually a good waiter when he did appear. This resulted in most food being brought at slightly sub-optimal serving temps, which is a problem when one is spending $100 per plate. Other than that, this wasn't that big a deal, and we had a lovely time.

Our party of 5 had the private, "500" dining room as we celebrated my cousin's birthday. Gary and his team took excellent care of us, and made sure our experience was perfect and memorable! As usual the food was outstanding, and prepared perfectly! Prices are not inexpensive, but for the most part, you get what you pay for! Ruth's Chris/Pasadena remains one of our top "destination" steakhouses, and we'll be back time and again!

Really nice place... the service was amazing.it was my birthday and they made sure I was good they even printed my name on the menu it was a special touch that I loved. I absolutely love the live entertainment 😍 I will most definitely come back over and over.
