Best Steak Restaurants in Midtown / Cooper

This speakeasy-ish spot was crazy wonderful - once we found it! It’s tucked away on a side street off of Beale. The appetizer - smoked bacon with goat cheese and currants - slayed. Our waiter, Greg, couldn’t have been nicer. In terms of interiors, the blue-tinted windows framed in rough hewn wood that contrasted to the boxy, modern light fixtures, (set low, of course), plus the live blues music duo nestled in the corner was intoxicatingly delicious. It’s right up there on my list of exquisite dining experiences. Even better, since we ate there we got free tickets to the blues club below. It’s the total date night package. Such a kick!

I went for my birthday and Noah was my waiter. He was very nice and funny. I love that he was so attentive to our needs. The food was good and the restaurant was nice and clean. The Pineapple Castaway was very strong and fruity. I did have to send my steak back for a longer cook time. That was the only hang up. Overall, it was a great birthday experience. Also would like to say thank you to Me-me, she was assisting Noah. She was very nice as well.

As usual, the food and service was spot on. We were celebrating a very special birthday- 95 years! Everyone we encountered was aware and gave a special greeting. He was treated as the special person he is. We had Henry for our server and he was wonderfully kind to our table. This location always meets and even exceeds our expectations- the steaks were absolutely perfect too! Looking forward to our next occasion to come!

Two of us dined after a basketball game at FedExForum. The restaurant was not busy at 8:30 pm, and our server, Rae, promptly took our drink orders. I had a perfectly made Tito's and tonic. My cousin has a pot of Earl Grey tea. We shared the Ballers Brisket Sliders and the 901 Potato Skins. Both were very good. The sliders were sweet and smokey, served with BBQ sauce and fried onion rings on soft buns and a side of dill pickles, the French fries had a Cajun spice. The potato skins had a nice layer of potato with bacon, cheddar cheese, and scallions, served on a bed of lettuce with sour cream. We also ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta to-go for my cousin's son, who reported it was delicious! We look forward to returning many times during the basketball season. Our server, Rae, was attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely ask for her on our next visit!
