Had a table by the glass wall looking out over the bay. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive Definitely will come back.More infoDuke's La JollaPrice: Moderate• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• La Jolla•4.6
- JJoySan Diego •2 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoI love the Grand Del Mar and have been coming to Amaya since its grand opening before the Fairmont bought the Property. The hotel is spectacular, always lovely and never disappoints. I often love to come with a friend and just have dinner in the Amaya bar, which is beautiful and quiet and opulent. But ever since the property changed from Manchester to Fairmont, the service at Amaya as well as food quality has gone downhill. It is no longer a 5 star restaurant in my estimation. The service is slow and sloppy. The food preparation almost always has one item that is not up to par, or is under or over cooked. Honestly, it is so disappointing to tell friends that I really want them to experience the ambiance of the hotel and its grounds but then have to make excuses for the menu and service. I went with a friend on New Years Day and all of the above was true, which also makes it over priced. I was so happy Christmas Decor was still up as it is always gorgeous. But during the lunch hour and even in the afternoon the lobby bar, which I love, was not staffed, so no post lunch aperitif. It makes me sad. I wont stop going there, because I love the architecture and opulence of the Hotel, and I will look forward to the day when the Fairmont Corp upgrades their staffing and service requirements.More infoAmaya at Fairmont Grand Del MarPrice: Very Expensive• French• Carmel Valley•4.1

- LLeeVIPSan Diego •133 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 25, 2024Christmas Eve Dinner at Red O - A Memorable Experience from ambiance to dessert and everything in between. This Christmas Eve, my family and I broke from tradition and chose to dine at Red O instead of our usual steakhouse or seafood spot. It turned out to be a fantastic decision, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. Our meals were nothing short of exceptional. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, while the Chicken Enchiladas were a savory blend of spices and comfort. The Rack of Lamb was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning, and the Surf & Turf offered a delightful combination of succulent grilled lobster and a juicy steak. Every dish exceeded our expectations. The service was also outstanding. Both the management and the staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that every need was met with warmth and professionalism. It was clear that they were dedicated to making our holiday meal special, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. And of course, save room for dessert. The Tres Leches Cake was an absolute standout—a light, decadent treat that’s a must-try. If you’re a fan of butter cake, the version here is an indulgence you won’t want to miss. Overall, Red O provided the perfect setting and exceptional dining experience for our Christmas Eve celebration. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a festive atmosphereMore infoRED O Taste of Mexico - La JollaPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Mexican• La Jolla•4.4
