Best Steak Restaurants in Upper Kirby / Shepherd Corridor

This is a high end restaurant that prides itself on its steak. We ordered a Caesar salad(v good) and crab cake (v good) starter. We were looking forward to the chateaubriand main. We ordered it medium rare. It was a little under but the biggest travesty was the mess that the waiter made of this beautiful cut of meat when he attempted to slice it tableside. He destroyed the meat and the end result was that this $129 piece of meat resembled dog food. The crème brûlée desert was v good. There is a good choice of wines by the glass. I had a lovely far niente cab. I had to ask the waiter to clean the table. This was a very expensive meal that did not live up to the hype.

Celebrated our 8th anniversary at Pappas Bros Steakhouse. The staff and manager were fantastic. Food was out of this world! Joyce took time to explain the options, showed us different cuts of meat and gave us suggestions. We had the Prime Ribeye (18oz), skillet potatoes and chocolate cake to finish. Every bite was delicious! Joyce even brought us a special dish (on the house) - sautéed jalapeños. I can’t even begin to describe how good this was paired with the potatoes. For drinks, we had red wine (glass), Moscow mule, Long Island, and a lychee martini. First time in Houston, first time at Pappas Bros. Will do it all over again the next time we’re in town.

I would like to take a moment to commend the outstanding service we received during our recent visit. Our waiter, Manuel (also known as Manny), was truly exceptional. He was attentive, professional, and ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. His dedication to providing excellent service truly stood out, and we greatly appreciated his warm and thoughtful approach. Please extend our thanks to Manny for making our visit memorable. We will certainly be returning and will look forward to another wonderful experience.

Fantastic dining experience. We took our daughter for her birthday. Her first time. Service from Jillian was top notch and the steak and sides could not have been any better. We will be back soon.

We were fortunate to have the sommelier assist us in selecting an exquisite bottle of Pinot Noir that perfectly complemented our dinner. The food was simply delicious, showcasing the high standards Mastro's is known for. The ambience was elegant and sophisticated, truly reflecting the affluent atmosphere of Houston. I highly recommend Mastro’s Steakhouse for anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience. It’s the perfect place to celebrate special occasions or simply enjoy a fantastic meal with loved ones. We left with full hearts and satisfied appetites, already looking forward to our next visit!
