Craftsmanship at its finest is displayed at Sushi Noz, where guests experience our seasonal omakase menu curated nightly by Chef Nozomu Abe. Known as "Noz" to his friends, Abe-san is part of a movement from Japan advancing Edomae-style sushi, incorporating aging and preparation techniques that date back to Japan's Edo period. Upon entering the restaurant, guests are transported by the Sukiya-style wooden interior, which was assembled using more than a dozen types of cedar. The centerpiece of our first dining room is our 8-seat, 200-year-old hinoki wood sushi bar and traditional ice chest, where Chef Noz refrigerates the evening's neta selections. Our second dining room features a sushi bar made from tamo ash wood, which accommodates an additional 6 guests. We welcome our guests in true Japanese hospitality, offering two nightly seatings at each counter.

The food was delicious and fresh, we enjoyed the appetizers which were inventive and well prepared. The specials were sushi fish tacos and king crab buns, the specialty salad and salmon skin salad were great, Dobin Mushi Soup was fantastic, Oma 8 platter was fresh and nicely seasoned (I had the version with toppings) and unagi don was tasty, and vegetables in it fresh, but my partner stated it wasn’t fancy. Staff was attentive, friendly and helpful despite the restaurant being full. I’m sure we would have enjoyed our experience even more if we were seated a little further away from the entrance as it was really cold. The entrance is not immediate, but through a hallway, but there is no door separating the dining area from it. So, cold air blasts directly over few first tables any time the front door is opened.

I took my Japanese mom to Noz Market for their Christmas Eve special omakase, and it was truly a 10/10 experience. Every course was so carefully considered, the fish was fresh and delicious, and the chef was so kind and lovely to talk to. This meal was one of the best Omakases I’ve ever had, and for the quality and overall experience the price made it even better. Definitely coming back!
