- SShaneLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoMy family and I had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving and a birthday at Gyu-kaku. The staff were attentive and kind. The food was good, though I didn’t always feel we got enough from each plate. Obviously we can always request more, and we ended up doubling up, but sometimes we didn’t even get enough for the 5 folks at our table to each have some. I’m grateful that they were open and willing to host us on a holiday. I will gladly return and highly recommend. Just ask for more than one plate at a time :)More infoGyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ - Pasadena, CA | Old TownPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Pasadena•4.4

- HHectorLos Angeles •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIf you're craving authentic Japanese food, Shin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Men-Ya in Alhambra is a must-visit! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with an authentic vibe that transports you straight to Japan. I started with their famous Japanese meat skewers—absolutely delicious! The yakitori was perfectly grilled, with just the right amount of char and tenderness. The flavors were spot-on, and each skewer was a delightful burst of savory goodness. Next, I had the ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a great depth that comes from hours of careful preparation. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings (from soft-boiled eggs to tender slices of pork) really elevated the dish. It's easily one of the best ramen bowls I've had. To round out the meal, I enjoyed a glass of cold sake. It was smooth and refreshing, a perfect complement to the meal. Overall, everything was great. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly without sacrificing quality. Whether you're a fan of yakitori or ramen, this place does it right. I’ll definitely be back for more!More infoShin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Men-Ya - AlhambraPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Alhambra•4.7

- MMimiLos Angeles •6 reviews5.0Dined on Sep 1, 2024Our party of 4 had afternoon tea on 9/1/24 and it was our first time at Madeline. Everything was wonderful! The main dining room was elegant. The harpist was very talented and played beautifully. All of us really enjoyed our teas (lavender black & lychee oolong). We ordered the European and Madeline high tea. There was plenty of food and we all left very full. The French onion soup and salad were really good. And the scones - omg! The scones were so delicious and some of the best that we’ve ever had. Service was great and attentive. 10/10 experience! We will be coming back.More infoMadeline Garden Bistro & VenuePrice: Moderate• French American• Pasadena•4.2
