Best Brunch Restaurants in Hillsdale

What an amazing dining experience! The restaurant is literally a beacon in downtown San Jose. The sign is bright and hard to miss. The moment we stepped inside we were greeted by the friendly host staff. The main dining room is beautiful and lively as well as a lovely bar. We took a peek upstairs where there a handful of dining tables, another bar and a great open window length counter where you can dine. Our service was friendly, professional and very prompt; our water never went empty. All the cocktails ordered were great. All of the food we ordered was delicious!! We loved and appreciated the complimentary appetizer and decadent chocolate at the end; wonderful touches. I’m so excited downtown finally has an excellent dining spot. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner here this year. It was bustling -- I guess a lot of folks didn't want to cook! Everything was excellent. We ordered the prix fixe dinners. Two of us had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. My vegetarian hubby had the ravioli which he said was delicious. The salad was a great starter -- loved the persimmons. We all loved the butternut squash soup -- there was a certain spice in it that made the soup extra special and delicious. Our turkey dinners were just the right size -- we especially enjoyed the brussels sprouts with lardons. The pie slices were fine -- tasted good, but nothing exceptional. The service was very, very good. Our waiter was attentive and always there for us. All and all a very nice Thanksgiving dinner -- with just a couple ciders, sparkling waters, coffee and including tax and tip it was $400 for three (3) of us. We felt it was worth it.

We ordered the Porterhouse steak on a block of salt and it was very good and tender. The Barzino is also delicious. Our waitstaff Destiny was very attentive. They are also very accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to make their customers happy.

Tucked away among old homes and hills, restaurant has a great old world charm and excellent food

Food and service was exceptional. We ordered the beet salad and octopus as appetizers. Our table had the pork chops, the best burger, and a really good steak.
