The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees. It has a nice ambiance, intimate, and suitable for conversation. We went on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was half full. We ordered the Short ribs, steak frites, and hamburger. All of us enjoyed our meals. The meat was done well, and portion sizes were good. It is an older restaurant with a classic charm. Service was on point. We celebrated a birthday and ordered the 13-layer chocolate cake. It was a fun birthday treat, and it was delicious, not too sweet. There was plenty to take home afterwards. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and exceeded my expectations.

Vasili provided us with prompt and attentive service and accommodated our special requests with a smile. Our food had a lovely presentation and served at just the right temperature. The pate was like a mousse, very flavourful and light. The frites arrived piping hot just the way we like them. The ratatouille kabob had a nice smokey flavour accompanied by a spicey sauce. The glazed carrots were cooked perfectly.
