THE WOODSMAN IS A TRULY BRITISH RESTAURANTWe use the best British ingredients, all sourced as sustainably as possible.We love using Wild food, and harvest much of it ourselves. All the meat on our menus is “nose to tail” so the menu is ever changing, and we waste nothing. We even employ our own head ranger to keep the deer herds on the land we manage under control, and have our own deer larder in the Cotswolds where this amazing product is processed.Our fish comes from day boats in Cornwall.We work with the seasons, ensuring the very best truly local veg is with us the day after its picked. Our food is cooked over wood from local plantations, and charcoal coppiced less than 20 miles away.We know the story of everything on the menu.Our lovely staff are extremely well informed, so, do ask questions on anything you’re not sure of.We hope you love this restaurant as much as we do and keep coming back.

There are two dining spaces at Cotswold House, as well as an option to have lunch or dinner at our sister property The Noel Arms directly opposite.The juxtaposition of our relaxed Cocktail Bar area and sophisticated Hidcote Brasserie & Grill restaurant creates a two-concept dining experience. Linked together, these spaces offer the best of both worlds. The Chipping Campden Cocktail Bar offers an informal dining experience, this is where the bar is located so expect a livelier vibe, cocktail shakers, the gurgling espresso machine and locals coming and going. Dogs are welcome too. Hidcote Brasserie & Grill is a little more sedentary, romantic even, and is located in a beautiful high ceilinged Regency room. Wonderful Sunday lunch today. Wish I had booked last night too. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were all very amenable and efficient. All of them were excellent which is a good sign. Very pleasant atmosphere.

A most enjoyable Saturday evening. A little quieter than usual post Christmas. We had venison and linguine both of which were superb and generous portions. Very relaxed atmosphere and great service.

Totally exceeded my expectations. Fabulous service, setting and food. Beautiful calm, graceful ambience with warm helpful staff and every item on the menu was first rate. A pleasant surprise that unlimited teas, any type of coffee and hot chocolate were included in afternoon tea and the rose fizz to accompany goes perfectly as an add on. A special start to Christmas and a refined yet relaxed oasis in which to enjoy it at leisure. Highly recommended thank you - we will be back.
