The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. Outdoor patio dining and fireside dining are available in season.The restaurant offers lunch and dinner daily, as well as a special breakfast/lunch a la carte menu offered on Saturdays from 11 am to 4pm.     We celebrated Valentine's Day at Washington House Restaurant. The food and atmosphere were perfect for the occasion. Hearts were decorated everywhere, and a rose was at each table. There was a special Valentine's Day menu. Hubby ordered his favorite fish and chips and loved it. I ordered the chicken and farro salad which I enjoyed very much! We ordered the valentine's day dessert - a tiramisu inspired red velvet cake! Beautiful and delicious!

    This has been the second time we enjoyed tea service in the Great room. It was superb from start to finish. The service is impeccable, the selection of mini sandwiches and desserts were not only delicious but beautifully presented. The maple pecan scone was the best I have ever had. I have had afternoon tea at top rated places around the world including in NYC and this compared to some of the best I have tried. Well- done all around. Highly recommend it for any celebration or even for a casual relaxing time with family and friends !

    We had a wonder first time at tap and bitter. It was a quiet Sunday but the staff checked in on us throughout our dinner. We always had water and didn’t feel rushed and they gave us time in between courses to relax and enjoy each other company
