Abacá is an airy, atelier-style restaurant with a cool outdoor terrace, whipping up Filipino-Californian cuisine with flair in Fisherman's Wharf. It's the bricks-and-mortar spin off of chef Francis Ang's pop-up Pinoy Heritage. The lively menu is split up into barbecue sticks, noodles and rice, and small to big plates, but its far more nuanced than just that. Flavourful dishes pull from family recipes and are glazed with modern and heritage technique to result in a vibrancy that's hard to come by. It's grounded by local produce. Smoked Bay scallops lead in the seafood pancit, heirloom tomatoes top homemade tinapay bread, chicken skin is glazed in an adobe before hitting the grill and guinea fowl comes slathered with peanut sauce. Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. This is one of our favorite San Francisco restaurants. We have been enjoying the food and hospitality at Scoma's since childhood (1968 when it opened). The seafood is always fresh and well prepared with interesting side dishes. All types of seating available indoors and out, and they have a very lively bar scene. Great wine selection. And delicious desserts to finish off your visit.

I had a wonderful lunch today at Original Joe's. My server Sedat was outstanding and had great suggestions for menu items. I strongly recommend the Pineapple Punch (n/a), Joe's House Made Ravioli, and the Butter Cake. This was the best meal of the trip!

A friend recommended Abaca and it did not disappoint. Our server was very attentive, knowedgable and had a great sense of humor. Pork Lumpia, Sisig Fried Rice, and PEI mussels were all great.

Amazing dining experience for my husband's birthday. Daria was our server and was excellent. We loved her suggestions on the menu as well. We enjoyed the octopus (best I've ever had), lamb meatballs, Gigantes, Smelt, and the goat stew to finish. We were absolutely stuffed and definitely slept like babies! Everything was stunning. I've heard such wonderful things before coming here, and they had exceeded my expectations.
