Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012. In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ. I had the Chicken Biriani and I ordered it spicy. It was so good! And just at the edge of my spice tolerance so they provided a little yogurt sauce to cool it down slightly. I have eaten here before and will definitely eat here again.

I very much appreciated that I received my requested seating preference. I am thankful to have such a quality restaurant so close to home. I am comfortable bringing family and friends to this restaurant knowing the food will be delicious and the atmosphere comfortable for either casual or fine dining.

The beer menu and the food menu are both very creative. We had some great unique dishes including the pierogie appetizer and buffalo chicken mac $ cheese which both had great flavors. The server was very attentive and we enjoyed dinner while listening to our favorite local band.
