Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Little Tokyo

Everything we shared at dinner was incredible. The food flavor profiles were unique; the likes of which we've never tasted before. Our waiter was attentive and personable and the seating was enveloping and comfy. Altogether and outstanding experience.

We made a reservation to try Fixins Los Angeles. The service was outstanding from the greeting at the hostess desk to the wait staff to the delivery of our food. Parking was tricky because there was a LA Kings game. The food came out extremely quick - literally 2 minutes after we ordered. The collard greens were good but had a little vinegar taste, fried chicken was delicious, but the star of the meal was the cornbread muffin. Melt in your mouth!

Been here several times before going to the Ahmanson or Mark Taper and have always had a good experience but I think this last time was the best. I called ahead to let them know I was running a few minutes late and they said no problem but couldn’t guarantee I would make the theatre on time. I appreciated the heads up but knew we would be fine. We were seated right away and even though it was outside in the tented area, it was very comfortable temp wise. The server, Junny was friendly and very helpful when it came to ordering. We got the tuna salad and tomatillo salad, recommended by Junny, and salmon entree. When another person brought the salads, she raved about getting the two together. It was not too filling and a lovely mix of textures and flavors. And the salmon was good too. Also the chocolate mezcal cake, another recommendation, was a winner. Not to sweet or rich but another interesting mix of textures and flavors. All this and made curtain at Ahmanson with time to spare. I’m hoping to get back here for one more dinner or maybe brunch before the next chef comes in.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Eigikutei, and it was a wonderful experience. The food presentation is nothing short of artful—each dish is plated with such elegance and care that it’s almost too beautiful to eat. The ingredients are impeccably fresh, with flavors that highlight the quality and thoughtfulness behind every creation. The staff is equally impressive, offering courteous and attentive service that made me feel truly welcomed. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an exceptional dining experience, Eigikutei is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!
