Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Portage Park

First time here and loved it! Food, service, location and ambiance were all spot on. Easy street parking as well. Happy hour M-F 5-6pm with half price wine glasses!

We shared 3 appetizers, 1 dumpling, the pork belly ( main course), and dessert. The portions are large enough that we were full. Ask your server about the food, as Ukrainian combinations and ingredients seem strange, but work beautifully. Rather than have a cocktail, I had an infusion- a shot of vodka or brandy with a fruit or herbal infusion. I still could not bring myself to do the horseradish one!

Outstanding meal and terrific dishes . Been to Thattu, a few times and note the progress over the years. Reservation made earlier in the day guaranteed us no wait. Alcohol is available with a native twist to the traditional cocktails. Food, Made ideally for the South Indian palate but not too spicy for the average palate and food similar enough to the East African and Caribbean dishes. The menu changes regularly but standard dishes like fried chicken, biryani, and unique fair like Appams(flat leavened pancakes) are absolutely delicious. The thali meals wand vegetarian sides are delicately made. Dessert was a a fried jackfruit cake and and payasam. Both exquisite. Tips built in and shared equally by all the staff. Ambiance is one of a casual restaurant with no airs. Simply laid out large dining room and very attentive staff . All orders are placed on individual phones and the tab can be kept open till the meal is done and gone. Service was quick. Street parking can sometimes be a challenge. A wonderful experience to which we will most certainly return.

We love this restaurant, never had a bad meal. My only complaint ever is why so stingy with the delicious butter?

We remember the original restaurant the Mirabel. Good German food. This wonderful restaurant the Mirabella is in a word: Fabulous! The Ecuadoran people who own and run this fine establishment beat any 5 star steak house! Congratulations to them. Old world elegance, service, charm and these wonderful fired potato’s chips will keep you coming back! This made our Christmas Eve! Muchas gracias mi amigos y amigas, y Feliz Navidad!
