In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors.     The Pantry always provides excellent food served hot and fast. The service is always friendly and extremely efficient. The holiday decor was festive and beautiful. I had made a reservation and was running 20 minutes late, so I called ahead and they said no problem. When we arrived there were many people waiting, but when we checked in they had saved our table and sat us immediately. I was pleased and so impressed by their efficiency. Love this place. Have been many times before and will continue to go for all of the reasons above and more. The menu always has my favorites plus some new additions to try which keeps me coming back. Best cup of coffee anywhere. The Bellini’s , mimosas, and Bloody Mary”s are spot on. They never rush you off the table even when there are people waiting. It is such a pleasant dining experience.

    First experience, but not our last!! Our experience at Vincent’s Clam Bar was nothing short of AMAZING!! Even on a busy Saturday night, the service was top notch!! our waiter was attentive, polite, and made sure everything was perfect. The food was OUTSTANDING with every dish cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, so we had plenty to take home. The watermelon martini was an absolute standout, and the Neapolitan dessert was the perfect way to end the meal. The lively atmosphere, incredible flavors, and impeccable service make this a spot we’re eager to revisit soon! Highly recommend it!

    My wife and I are regulars at Haviland's. The food and service is always consistent. The menu has something for everyone and the bolognese is off the charts good. The specials are inventive. The atmosphere is elegant and not pretentious. I think we're lucky to have this type of restaurant in our neighborhood.
