General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

Osteria Giulia sprung to life in our imaginations as a tribute to Italian traditions of the past. We wanted to create one simple, beautiful thing. Somewhere outside of your busy life, outside of your surroundings, outside of time. An environment, an experience, an entire evening. Osteria Giulia is intimate, warm and familiar. We’ve revelled in her every detail. We’ve established a rarified menu focusing on Northern Italian cuisine and delicate coastal, Mediterranean flavour. Giulia is a new imagining of what an Italian restaurant can be. It always was the place of our dreams, the reason for our collaboration, and the culmination of—and conduit for—our collective passion. I only have great things to say about Levant! It was one of the first restaurants we visited after the lockdown. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and had a meal as fantastic as the hospitality. We recently had occasion to visit again - the experience did not disappoint. Our server was attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful in choosing dishes to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The cocktails were refreshing and novel. The baba ganoush was deliciously smokey and enough that we came home with leftovers. My partner and I both enjoyed our (not) pizzas. The crust is reminiscent of pan pizza from your childhood with flavour combinations that highlight the best of middle eastern fare. I cannot recommend Levant enough!

Amazing and unique experience akin to being in Scandinavia. The billowing smoke scent of cedar oil was a nice touch. I gave the food a 3 as there was actually no food but didn’t want to rank your rating.

The service and ambiance was great. Notable dishes were the challah and fluke and fennel. The fries were perfectly crispy and the broccoli was very flavourful. However, the ribeye was average, it lacked flavour but cooked properly yo medium rare.
