We had crispy calamari with fried artichokes and Greek olives. Perfectly cooked octopus with potatoes. For entrees we chose the shrimp and grits with delightful mascarpone polenta, spinach and chorizo. My friend had the Al dente pasta with perfectly cooked short ribs. And for the dessert we had star of the show Mounds dessert with hot chocolate poured over to form a ganache shell and the special of the day dessert which was a muffin style apple crumb cake with apple compote. Soooo yummy! What a perfect meal Kudos to the chef on his “First” restaurant! Well done!More infoF1RSTPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Hawthorne•4.8

Food was excellent everyone loved their choices. Service was good. One thing that was odd was that when we got there all the glasses and plates were upside down rims touching table. We are germaphobes so we wiped down our glasses. Also when server brought the Pellagrino she just plopped it on table not opened, no ice, no lemon. Typically a restaurant will bring it with glasses filled with ice and lemon/lime wedges. Despite these minor oversights, I do recommend this very good restaurant in the heart of Ridgewood.More infoPiccolo BistroPrice: Moderate• Italian• Ridgewood, New Jersey•4.5

I was blown away by the Scallops dish that my wife ordered, most places give maybe 3-4 scallops. The portion at Felina was very generous as there was 5-6 large scallops which were perfectly cooked. Normally broccoli and cauliflower aren’t the most exciting sides but they complimented the dish nicely and it was all brought together with a great sauce. The chicken Scarpiello was also suburb. The potato pure was gave a dish that is more rustic a more elegant feel. The creaminess from the potato puree paired well with the chicken and sausage. Brussels were well made nice and crispy with a good sauce. Caesar salad was great to share, love seeing the chopped anchovies in the salad as you know it’s the real deal.More infoFelina - RidgewoodPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary Italian• Ridgewood, New Jersey•4.6
