The bartender made a special cocktail for my husband so go with the Beef Wellington. The sommelier served some perfect pairings for me. We will definitely go back. The Beef Wellington for two was perfect.More infoLuciePrice: Very Expensive• French• Financial District•4.6

Our Taste Canoe featured smoked oyster and venison, fois gras-cured lamb, butternut-sweet potato-anise soup (surprise!), sturgeon and shrimp tortellini, lobster, veal, Granny Smith apple-verjus (delightful palette freshener), carrot cake-ice cream-maple syrup-black garlic, petit fours. The pairings were spot on, and discussions with our somm (I didn't get the spelling of his name, but it's pronounced U Gee) indicate an adventurous take on the meal. Our server extraordinaire, David, delivered a superb performance (ask him about his love of hockey). The staff are passionate about what they do and it shows in their presentation of the courses. Our table's clear view of the lake and downtown made our anniversary extra special. With views like these, it's like dining in an art gallery. We'll return again next year!More infoCanoe Restaurant and BarPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary Canadian• Financial District•4.5
