We arrived to find it tastefully decorated with a birthday card. At dessert time, a generous plated cheesecake was brought out with a candle and birthday wishes etched in chocolate on the rectangular plate and two complimentary glasses of prosecco. The menu has a wide variety of food selections and sides, portions are generous and beautifully presented, and waitstaff is always there checking on your water glasses, satisfaction with the food, and if the steak is done cooked correctly to your liking, there will do it again and get it just as you wish. Perfect evening!! All of the staff treated us like family and were happy to have us there. tried several sushi and appetizers. The size of the maki rolls was unbelievable and the flavors outstanding.  we had a picky eater among us and we were shocked at the things he tried and the things he liked from tartare, to foi gras and even bone marrow, so impressed. I have since moved to Boston and then Maine but was able to go to Max's for lunch while visiting family over Christmas 2024. My husband and I were blown away by the menu, the food, the service, the ambiance, and the prices. We got the seafood tower plus some extra oysters and it was fantastic and a much better value than those we have ordered in Maine! Everything else on the menu looked creative and delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Matt, our server, was excellent; very knowledgable and very friendly. What a fantastic lunch.
